This is the first piece I wrote after I moved to Carbondale, Colorado. I was so impressed with how dog-friendly this town was... so many dog parks and so many people who actually spend quality time with their precious pet.  Gandhi once said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."  If that's true, Carbondale, Colorado is a great town.  You don't necessarily have to think of a pet when playing this song. You can also think of a human friend or you can think of the Creator as a friend to walk with.
